McMurtrey Gallery is switching things up this year. Instead of our annual holiday group exhibition, we're presenting a group drawing show that puts forth the talents of several diverse artists.
The exhibit includes work by three gallery artists who aren't primarily known for their drawing, including collage artist Lance Letscher, painter Robert Jessup, and sculptor Troy Woods. Their individual talents, as these works show, expand much further than their prescribed media.
Also included in the exhibit are works by Austin-based artist W. Tucker, who paints with his left hand despite being a natural-born righty. W. Tucker's pieces come to us courtesy of Koelsch Gallery. Also from Austin, Robert Dale Anderson's work adds a moody element to the show. His graphite drawings resemble early etchings or engravings, and his use of chiaroscuro is impressive.
