Lance Letscher is an internationally recognized Austin artist who exhibits in France, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland. He is also in numerous collections including The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The Austin Museum of Art, Austin, Texas; The McNay Museum of Art, San Antonio, Texas; Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, TX; Libres Del Trapez, Barcelona, Spain; Texas' Children's Hospital, Houston, Texas; and Dell Childrens Medical Center, Austin, Texas.
Lance Letscher's meticulously crafted collages immerse the viewer in his imaginative construction process. Cutting from vintage books and gleaning from images often associated with machinery and industry Letscher utilizes the delicacy of paper to create a paradoxical world where mass production and chaotic happenstance collide. When asked for an artist statement Lance simply replied:
"Someone asked Jerry Sienfeld where his idea's come from. He said "I hear a voice in my head, but it's in German, so I have to get an interpreter". - Lance Letscher
