Lance Letscher 2005
New Work

This March, Lance Letscher is returning to McMurtrey Gallery with an exhibit of all new work. Mr. Letscher creates one-of-a-kind collage using bookbinding, old ledgers and journals, and miscellaneous paper ephemera from decades past. In his own words, these new pieces "are the product of my continued intensive investigation into all of the possible permutations of the radical association of scissors, paper and glue. There is also a small group within the larger group that relies more heavily on found imagery, as opposed to the pattern and color themes of my earlier work."

In addition to the exhibition opening on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at McMurtrey Gallery, the Museum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont will open on Friday, March 18, 2005 with Mr. Letscher's traveling exhibition, Books and Parts of Books - A survey of work from 1996 - 2004.

It is a must-see exhibit and the last venue the show is traveling to on its yearlong tour.

In 2004, Lance Letscher had successful solo exhibitions in both Barcelona and New York. Mr. Letscher's work can be found in the collections of the Austin Museum of Art, Austin, Texas; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; California State University Print Collection, Long Beach, California; Texas Children's Hospital, Houston, Texas; and copious other public and private collections across the globe. He has exhibited extensively in Austin; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Poznan, Poland; Munich, Germany; Barcelona, Spain; and throughout numerous other states and countries.
